Finnish EdTech startup, The Mighty United Oy, announced today that it has been named the winner of Best in Design and honoured in Most Innovative Digital Service category in the annual 2017 Grand One Awards. Hundreds of companies battle yearly in Grand One Awards, which is the biggest digital media competition in Finland.
– Mightifier is a courageous solution to tackle the difficult problem in a new way. The outcome is equal to any international product competing the recognition of target group. We see the potential as a digital export product, explains the award organization.
The Mighty United Oy, focusing on social-emotional learning of primary school kids, says that the visually appealing Mightifier app has been co-created with kids and teachers in real classrooms.
-We’re building on positive peer feedback in the classrooms, and the app reflects that. It’s bright, colorful, fun, and easy for the kids and teachers to use. When developing the app, we observed and listened what the kids and teachers had to say, comments CEO Mervi Pankäläinen.
Mightifier app is also competing in the 2017 Webby Awards as well as in Finnish design contest Vuoden Huiput 2016. Webby Awards is a significant international competition for the best of the internet and Mightifier runs for the best Educational Mobile Site & App against big international operators like Khan Academy and Sir. David Attenborough’s Story of Life.
Social-emotional learning is strongly connected to academic success, and social skills are vital to the success of the 21st Century kids. Mightifer app is based on positive psychology and enables a safe, cool, and easy way for encouraging peer feedback in the classrooms.
