Finnish EdTech startup, The Mighty United Oy, continues its success in design awards. The company announced today that it’s Mightifier app has been named the winner of Grand Prix, best in show award in Vuoden Huiput 2016. It also won the Best Product category and was shortlisted in two other categories: Design and Innovativeness. The 37th annual Vuoden Huiput 2016 is Finland’s most significant creative design competition with over 900 entries.

Mightifier has a unique approach to a difficult, global problem. Stress and anxiety at schools, due to eg., bullying, affects kids’ well-being and ability to learn. We focus on social-emotional learning to boost self-esteem and better class spirit. We are building on measurable, positive peer communications in the classrooms helping teachers and kids here in Finland and abroad, says CEO Mervi Pankäläinen.

The successful Mightifier app has been co-created together with kids and teachers.

Mightifier community is a feel good community, where giving and receiving positive feedback is a fantastic experience. The app design is appealing to both teachers and kids and it is easy to use. At the same time, we’ve managed to create a business model that is scalable for the international markets, says CEO Kimmo Timonen from Adventure Club, a company behind the app design.

Not surprisingly, Mightifier service has also been selected for the finals in Arctic15 2017 startup business event, and the company will pitch international investors in Helsinki on May 3rd and 4th. Mightifier app was also recently named the winner of Best in Design and honored in Most Innovative Digital Service category in the annual 2017 Grand One Awards.

Mightifer is a positive peer communication app with a measurable impact. The app boosts social-emotional learning, which is strongly connected to academic success and social skills vital to the success of the 21st Century kids.
