Helsinki — August 22nd, 2017 –EdTech start-up, Mighty United, today announced that it has licensed the award-winning Mightifier app to Scholastic, the world’s largest publisher and distributor of children’s books and a global leader in educational programs and services for use in schools and homes. Scholastic will make Mightifier available to the company’s vast network of schools throughout Asia.

With just a few minutes of class time each day, Mightifier has been shown to help students master social and emotional skills, leading to a more collaborative classroom environment, a decrease in bullying and a greater student focus on learning.The program is based on positive peer-to-peer feedback of individual strengths, helping to foster more positive relationships in classes that participate. The Mightifier method was co-created by Mighty United, along with teachers and students in Finland and has received positive endorsements from educators from Chicago to Helsinki who have piloted the program.

Mightifier won the Creative Business Cup finals in Finland and will represent its home country in the Creative Business Cup Global Finals in November in Copenhagen. In August 2017 Mightifier was awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017 in Education applications Category. The App was also recognized in the top 5 Educational Mobile Sites & Apps honored by the 2017 Webby Awards, a respected international competition for the best of the internet. Mightifier was also named the winner of Grand Prix, best in show award in the Best product category and was shortlisted for both Design and Innovativeness in a Finnish Design Competition VuodenHuiput2016. The app was also named winner of Best in Design and honored in Most Innovative Digital Service category in the annual 2017 Grand One Awards.

Mighty United attributes the successful Scholastic partnership to Polkuni Hong Kong, who played a key role in identifying and facilitating the Mightifier opportunity with Scholastic Asia. Polkuni is a Helsinki and Hong Kong-based investment and activation company that has expertise in creating the cultural interface between Finland and Asia, and boosting the success of entrepreneurs in Asia.
