Finnish EdTech startup, The Mighty United Oy, has been named the winner of the Finnish Creative Business Cup for creative industries. Finnish EdTech Innovation Mightifier will be representing Finland in Creative Business Cup Global Finals in Copenhagen next November. The Creative Business Cup aims to empower entrepreneurs in the creative industries, connect them to investors and global markets and strengthen their innovative capabilities to the benefit of industry and society. The Jury, led by Antti Salminen from Tekes, chose Mightifier as the winner of Finnish Creative Business Cup unanimously.
“Mightifier app is a scalable, measurable, and creative solution to tackle the difficult problem of anxiety and bullying in a new way”, says CEO Mervi Pankäläinen. “There’s a tremendous, global need to enhance the wellbeing at classrooms with very few solutions currently available. That’s why creativity is a must in this field.”
The Mighty United Oy, focusing on social-emotional learning of primary school kids, says that its success is based on teamwork and co-creation with teachers and students in the real classrooms.
The positive peer feedback app has been sweeping the trophy tables; Early May it won the Arctic15 Microsoft Pitching Competition 2017 for startups.In April, it won a Grand Prix, best in show award in a prestigious Finnish design competition Vuoden Huiput 2016. Mightifier app was also recently named the winner of Best in Design and honored in Most Innovative Digital Service category in the annual 2017 Grand One Awards.
The app also placed in the top 5 in education category in the 2017 Webby Awards.Last November, the team won the city of Fukuoka’s (Japan) Pitch Competition at Europe’s leading start-up event Slush. Also a year ago the app took the first prize in The Nordic Female Business Angel Network’s Craft a Killer Pitch –Competition.
